What makes it land
Santa uses your words. If you tell the elves "she read to her little brother every night this week", Santa says exactly that, with her name, in his voice. For a child, being seen by Santa is the whole point. Then he hears the wish, writes it in the big book, and asks if there's anything they'd like to ask him. Reindeer questions are answered in full.
